In the serie "Tessellation" Mantyka was interested in different components that create new geometrical or rhythmical configuration starting with a single line or shape. In the process of repetition, multiplication and tessellation simple forms are being transformed into new patterns. This project is concentrate on shaping space into new divisions and giving it new dimensions by creating separation between the elements or reshaping them to fit into alternative reality, as well as looking into the correlation between objects and the backgrounds.about the photographer
Graduate of the Master’s Degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Krakow Technical University and the postgraduate Advanced Illustration program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Canada and scholar of Bauhaus Universität in Weimar, Germany Marta Mantyka was always looking for different forms of visual expressions. She is using illustration to develop conceptual based projects which revolve around female sexuality, female issues and feminism. Her main interest in photography focuses on the documentation of an urban landscape, and its elements as a way of preserving the real moments, people, places and situations that, in a split of a second, may dissolve into the vastness.back to gallery
