entry description
The Day Dreamer – a series of works influenced by the works of Tim Walker. The works contain very little photo manipulation, everything that is seen in the photographs were originally in the photograph to begin with. The only manipulations were adjusting of colours or fixing blemishes. The day dreamer is about ones childlike wonder to explore and create. It is this fantastical fantasy world that is brought to life through singles images compiled into a photographic collective. The images are seen as a “children's book” in ways, a much darker and conceptual version unlocking ones dreams, fears, and mind and giving birth to a new world and or vision.about the photographer
Gerald was born in 1990 and is currently living in Toronto, Canada. He is a graduate of Ryerson University with a bachelor of fine arts, majoring in Photography studies. His photographic imagery is compiled of a conceptual and surrealistic nature, addressing eruptions of his unconscious and suppressed memories. His imagery contest and pushes the boundaries of the photographic process, or image processing. Gerald’s works are driven by a painteresque lens, mainly romanticism, confronting sublime notions of mythology, religion, and spirituality. In terms the imagery is a quotation of part era’s: borrowing aspects, concepts, and styles, combining contemporary practices.back to gallery
