At first glance
A country in continuous evolution, a strange and an unexpected mix of ancient and modern culture, capitalism and socialism. With a rising middle class and an enormous number of low income no-rights workers, China represents the last challenge to the belief that capitalism is a source of rights and democracy.
Started to take pictures for the first time at the beginning of 2008 after he had obtained a degree in Philosophy at the University of Florence.
During the last months of 2008, while documenting the student protests that were taking place in Italy against the new educational reform, he started to collaborate with the Milan based agency Fotogramma.
Become a freelance in 2009 he began to focus his attention on contemporary social issues starting a long-term project about immigration.
His work has been published in New York Magazine/The Cut, Vanity Fair (Italy), His Life (China), la Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, Gioia and Le Journal de la Photographie among others.
From 2012 he is represented by agency LaPresse, Italian partner of the Associated Press.
