The master of the stars
Using the light painting technique, I drew the stars, moon, ladder and the character holding a star.
This is one single shot and it was my first try on this scene.
It is my most poetic light painting. I like the idea that people can imagine stories from my photographs, give an identity to the character. I like the fact that children usually like these images: simple to understand and hand drawn elements.
This photograph is part of a series called "Light is Life" that I started in 2006.
I worked first as a concert photographer. At this time, I started focusing on Light and I realized I could control it to add some effects to my photographs. A few months later, in May 2006, the first light painting of the series "Light is Life" was shot: " Rendez-Vous ".
The characters shown on the light paintings are hand drawn while the scene is shot, using flashlights and different luminous accessories. The shutter speed varies from 5 seconds to more than 15 minutes. The most important part of my photographs is the background used for the light painting. I always start looking for places that inspire me before adding characters to the scenes. These images are not realized using software.
Nikonist born in 1983, I live in Paris (France) where I keep working on the light painting series. I am also working as an event photographer (parties, weddings, concerts) and I realize light painting animations for private and corporate events.
