Ghostly History
My vison came to fruition with the resulting image a using 25/30 second long exposure with a 10 stop ND filter. The image suited a monochrome conversion as there was very little colour due to the heavy fog.
The title of this image was born from the ghostly look of the deserted dredger in the fog which is known as the "PORTLAIRGE" and has quite a historical past according to information available on the internet.
I am proud of this image due to the factors considered in the capturing of it, especially the fact that I may not have even considered it but not for the heavy fog conditions on that evening. Also, I was informed recently that the side present in my image has been partially destroyed with graffiti making my image on of the last to be captured before it's present visual state.

entry description
This image was one of pure chance due to the intuition of a photographers mind and eye. While I was on a road trip to a different location to capture the sunset, a heavy fog rolled in, a fog so thick that my original sunset shoot location needed a rethink. I thought of this deserted river dredger and envisioned in my mind that the fog would create a ghostly image so I headed to its location. My vison came to fruition with the resulting image a using 25/30 second long exposure with a 10 stop ND filter. The image suited a monochrome conversion as there was very little colour due to the heavy fog.
