entry description
The American Southwest is full of photogenic landscapes, historic sites and architecture. I am always in search of historic places, buildings or sites that might not attract popular culture attention, but are nonetheless important places for reflection, preservation and appreciation. Much like the natural landscapes of the Southwest. These are landscapes found on lands owned by all Americans. They always have been under attack from greedy capitalists, corporations and corrupt politicians who look at these lands and see only short-term profit. The public needs to be aware that the current Administration is mounting such an assault upon YOUR lands and parks and historic places. If we don't pay attention and take decisive action to keep these lands in public ownership, fight for the continued protection and preservation of these important historic sites, they will be gone forever... and all you will have left of these lands and sites are the images I am submitting to this contest!about the photographer
I dedicated 24 years to protecting public lands and resources as a law enforcement officer for the Bureau of Land Management. My objective now, as primarily a self-taught photographer, is to assist private, public and governmental organizations and agencies, employed in or charged with preserving and protecting our natural, cultural and historic resources, achieve their respective goals by fostering public awareness through the imagery of my photography and advocate for the continued conservation and protection of these National treasures held in public trust for the benefit of all.back to gallery
