Stories Of Trees And Colours
I generally wouldn’t describe these images as photo manipulations, however, I also don’t think that they fit in the traditional landscape bracket either. The colour editing techniques are most definitely quite different than the norm, however, there are no layers involved (they were edited only in Lightroom) nor were there any other manipulations done to the images.
I believe that these images are strongly related, and hopefully they should inspire some folk to find their own stories reflected within.
When I progressed to a Pentax KX and tried out old manual lenses in manual mode, as opposed to kit lenses in auto, I got my head into understanding photography properly. At this point I started exploring landscape photography and fell in love with it. I soon found myself becoming more experimental with landscape work by using ‘in camera multiple exposures’ combined with ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) having been inspired by the British photographer ‘Chris Friel’.
I could say that using the above mentioned techniques aid in my ability to better capture the magickal atmosphere of the Irish landscape. In truth however, this would really be grasping at words as I dont create work with any preconceived concepts or fixed intellectual ideas.
I believe there is no single one true meaning to any works of art, and that artists themselves don't own the interpretation rights to their work. Personally I'm more interested in hearing other peoples description of my work as opposed to blethering on about my own ideas.

entry description
The images in this series are all the result of some recent experiments I've been doing with colour adjustments when editing in photos in Lightroom. All the images were taken in and amongst several mightily amazing woodland and forest areas here in the north of Ireland, and most were created by using “in camera multiple exposures” along with Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). Several of the images are a few years old and were re-edited recently with this experimental style of editing that I’ve been tinkering with.I generally wouldn’t describe these images as photo manipulations, however, I also don’t think that they fit in the traditional landscape bracket either. The colour editing techniques are most definitely quite different than the norm, however, there are no layers involved (they were edited only in Lightroom) nor were there any other manipulations done to the images.

about the photographer
Photography for me began with shooting the world up close in the form of potpourri jars, kit lat wrappers, bin stains and whatnot. I was producing these abstract visuals for ambient soundscapes which i was creating, and here I found massive passion in finding all these wee magic alien like microcosms all around me.When I progressed to a Pentax KX and tried out old manual lenses in manual mode, as opposed to kit lenses in auto, I got my head into understanding photography properly.
