Jake Meyer
Jake started climbing aged 12, and at 14 set his sights on becoming the youngest person to climb the '7 Summits' - the highest mountain on each continent.
Starting by watching the Millennium dawn from the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro when he was 15, Jake completed the challenge on the 4th of June 2005, when aged 21 and 134 days he became the youngest Briton to climb Mount Everest, and the youngest man in the world to complete the 7 Summits (Bass variant).
In 2006 Jake set a record of the fastest ascent of the highest mountain in every State in the contiguous USA (The Lower 48), which involved 15,000 miles of driving, around 100,000ft of climbing and 350 miles of trekking, all in 23 days, 19 hours and 31 minutes. To date he's visited 49 States and their highpoints out of 50 - only Hawaii left!
In 2009 Jake attempted K2 - reaching 7700m before turning back due to poor snow conditions. The account of this expedition was made into the award winning documentary - K2: Siren of the Himalayas.
He's visited the highest point in every county in England (all 82 in 7 days, 4 hours and 20 minutes). He's been to 41 countries in the world, and climbed to the highest point in 21 of them (and counting).
I am based in London and specialise in portraiture.
