Blue Hour
I come to this location fairly regularly but rarely get the shot I want.
This evening was the exception and took full advantage.
Timing for this shot is imperative. Usually its 2 hours after high tide to get the sea at the right level.
Luckily for me everything came together.
I used a B&W 10 stop filter, F8 and 240 secs.
In post i tried various crops and decided with the square crop.
This was a relatively quick edit in which most of it was carried out in Lightroom.
I'm pretty happy with he end result and hopefully my perseverance paid off.
Owen took up photography in 2007 after an Easter break to Amsterdam. While there, he and his wife Joy visited numerous art museums. He was blown away with what he saw. Dutch masters such as Vermeer and Rembrandt. Their paintings looked like photos. He knew he would never be able to paint like these, so he decided to buy a camera and try to take photographs in their style where possible.
Owen's style has changed since then and his images now are more serene, calm and minimal.
