entry description
These photographs were taken at Garry Point Park in Steveston BC during the air quality advisory from the wildfires. This created the natural haze for the photo. The pilings are believed to have been installed to protect the beach from the high shipping traffic, but are under threat of removal by the city due to their "ugly" nature. I however only see beauty, like guardians protecting us from the pending dangers. The light post is a visual guide for the ships to help them make safe passage, so to me this symbolizes hope. The final image is a 40 second exposure of a cargo ship leaving the river for the open ocean.Taken on Canon 5D mark II with Canon TS-E 24mm f/2.8 and Firecrest 13 stop ND with polarizer.
