At home in Bhutan
Descriptions of the photos:
1. An elderly matriarch in her Farmhouse. She spends much of the daytime alone at home while her children tend to the fields. Much of the house has not changed over the past 60 years. The obvious swelling on her neck is a goitre, a medical condition well-known to exist in mountainous regions, where the local diet lacks iodine.
2. A middle-class couple at home in their cosy Farmhouse.
3. Weary masked dancers taking a break in a quiet room.
4. Monks taking a break in the canteen area within the compounds of their dzong.
5. A curious but shy child wanting to be photographed.

I visited the locals in their homes during my second trip to Bhutan, and entertained them with my borrowed camera (I still do not own a camera). I want my travel portraits to capture life as it is in this exotic Himalayan kingdom. And as with all my travel portraits, no artificial lights, flash or reflectors.Descriptions of the photos:
