Shearing of sheeps
The sheeps to be sheared, about 400, are stored in a special enclosure, mothers with their lambs which obviously should not be sheared but that help to keep the mothers quiet.
Each shearer takes about a minute to shear a sheep, then four shearers, as in this case, in just over two hours can shear a flock of about 400 sheeps !!
It 's like an assembly line where the dead time is reduced to a minimum. Just a shearer ends of shear a sheep there is an attendant who is ready with the next sheep holding her front paws.
The expression of the sheep is not particularly happy because it all happens without a particular kindness although special electric razors used almost never cause injuries.
Between the legs of the shearer sheeps seem to get into a cataleptic state and do not move
Once sheared the sheeps run away together and they lick and skratch furiously their bare skin.

about the photographer
I’m a non professional photographer keen on landscape, architecture and travel photography. I have a degree in mechanical engineering. My passion for photography began at my ninth birthday when I received a gift from my grandmother a simple but beautiful Kodak Retinette and then I began experimenting by myself with apertures, shutter speeds and so on. Since then I have continued to take pictures although during the university studies as well as many very challenging work periods had a negative impact on my photographic work. In the last ten years I started to take pictures with some assiduity and I participate with great satisfaction to some trips organized by the Nikon School Travel. At the time I published on the site " Blurb " 31 photographic books of my trips.back to gallery
