entry description
I took a 7 week bus ride across 8 countries in Africa late last year. I was very interested in the culture of these countries and I knew it would be a great adventure. My goal during this trip was to capture the expressions of my subjects in their most naturalistic form. These photo's were taken in Botswana, Tanzania, and Namibia.about the photographer
I started traveling in 2009 and became one of two thousand members in the world who belonged to the Travelers Century Club for people who have visited over 100 countries. I also became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and started a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Agency providing treatment to people like my brother who have Autism. Despite my career path I have always been an artist at heart. My mom introduced me to oil painting at a young age and I bought my first film camera freshman year of high school. My interest in photography grew after using my compact camera during my extensive travels and I eventually upgraded to a DSLR. I never went to photography school. However, I taught myself how to become a photographer by analyzing photographs taken by the greats, practicing my ass off, and reading dozens of books about photography. Recently, I came to the conclusion that I have a preference for street, documentary, and travel photography after exploring various types of subjects over the years.back to gallery
