Touching the Void
It was 26 degrees and clear blue sky when we got our 1st cable car and 3 cable cars later it was -3 degrees, and nothing but clouds, snow, and skiers.
I noticed these skiers in the distance ascending and only got 2 shots.
I knew exactly the shot I wanted when I saw these skiers.
I could see the end result printed and framed and hanging in my living room.
Just as quickly as i took the shots they were quickly swallowed up by the mist.
Owen took up photography in 2007 after an Easter break to Amsterdam. While there, he and his wife Joy visited numerous art museums. He was blown away with what he saw. Dutch masters such as Vermeer and Rembrandt. Their paintings looked like photos. He knew he would never be able to paint like these, so he decided to buy a camera and try to take photographs in their style where possible.
Owen's style has changed since then and his images now are more serene, calm and minimal.
