entry description
Hiking up a forest trail in Yosemite National Park I surprisingly came across with an adult bobcat, that stop to stare at me from 6 metres away. The exciment barely let me position myself and the camera. But the bobcat remained calmed and for a couple of seconds our eyes made contact and we established some sort of connection. I was able to shoot a couple of frames before the cat lost interest in me and got lost in the dense forest.about the photographer
I was born in Buenos Aires city, Argentina and in 2006 moved to Campeche, Mexico, where I settled, formed a family and obtained my mexican nationality. My beginnings in photography dates back to 1990, the year when I took a basic photography course at the Academy of Visual Arts in Buenos Aires and from there all his training has been essentially self-taught. While enjoying doing photography of various subjects, where I am most comfortable is producing nature photography. I was attracted by the natural world and its inhabitants at an early age. My work has been published in various books and magazines and exhibited in different exhibitions. I´ve participated in photography competitions at local, national and international levels. My personal mission when I am behind the camera, whether on land or underwater, is to create evocative and compelling images that capture the public interest in the natural aspects of our planet Earth, the living creatures that inhabit it and the risks they are facing, in order to raise awareness of the importance of conserving our natural home. I´ve been diving since 1994 and am instructor of this specialty by NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) so in my underwater exploractions I also produce images. I am currently Delegate in the State of Campeche of the Comunidad Mexicana de Fotógrafos de Naturaleza, organization whose goal is to present and preserve the huge wealth of the mexican biodiversity. I am also a member of the Ocean Artists Society and the Mexican Association of Underwater Image A.C.back to gallery
