A Land where Giants Exist

entry description
This selection of photographs depicts two Big Tusker Elephants in Tsavo National Park, Kenya. There are thought to be fewer than 25 remaining alive on the entire African Continent. These iconic elephants represent a very rare gene pool thought to be lost through decades of poaching to please man's greed. There are only a handful of places left where elephants tusk's reach these extreme lengths. Tsavo is home to the largest number of them and they may well of disappeared entirely if not for the efforts of the Tsavo Trust who run a full time Big Tusker Project dedicated to these magnificent giants. In these photographs, I have tried to capture the magnificence and gentle beauty of these critically endangered elephants in the hope that opinions may be changed for those that see them so that their genes may be passed on to future generations.about the photographer
I am a 21 year old extremely keen enthusiast who is passionate about wildlife and conservation. Especially in the African Continent. I want my photographs to become recognised so I can raise awareness about the rarest and most endangered species so that I may change many people’s perception on hunting wild animals and to reach out to the corners of the world to help the fight against poaching. The aim behind my photographs is to show people the extremes of wildlife that people thought no longer exist. This includes elephants that have immense ivory that brushes the ground beneath them. I feel by showing such rare and beautiful animals, it will impact people’s opinions on such greed.back to gallery
