entry description
This picture was taken in Joshua Tree National Park around 2 am in the morning. I scouted the day before to find a complete Joshua tree. I made sure I knew how to get back to it in complete darkness. When I got there, I set up my tripod for a 25-second long exposure at ISO 1600 and a 2.8 aperture on my D750. I put the camera on a timer and ran off to the right of the tree so I could light paint it with a flash light. It's all one shot, no crazy editing. Off in the distance, I could hear coyotes howling, but they seemed to be far enough a way to not worry about them! I took 5 or 6 shots in all and then headed back to bed. It was a beautiful night for capturing the milky way in Joshua Tree National Park!about the photographer
