entry description
Tales In Ink is an ongoing series about tattooed people all over the world. Tattoos have different meanings in different cultures. And with the differences come the struggles (or not). In this series, I photograph tattooed people and register their stories. Stories about their lives, their driving forces, their convictions, their ideals, ... Stories about who they really are.about the photographer
ROB Walbers just turned 30 when he decided to change his homecountry Belgium for the land of the rising sun, Japan. After finishing photography school at Karel De Grote high school in Antwerp, he worked as a freelancer for magazines, music labels, live houses and so on. Big artists appeared in front of his lens, going from Madonna, The Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga to Morrissey and Radiohead. At the same time he kept working on his personal stories which led to several books, exhibitions and awards. After moving to Japan, he broadened his market and expanded his fields to fashion and lifestyle. His personal work keeps taking a big part of his time though, always working with a book or 2 in the back of his mind.
