entry description
Wapusk means "White Bear" in Cree language (North American native nation). It was in Northern Manitoba, Canada, that Dorota Sénéchal went in winter for a unique, rare and intimate experience with the Polar Bears and their young ones that are seeing the daylight for the very first time. At temperatures as low as -57° Celsius, the photography conditions were just as challenging for the photographer as well as for the equipment. Polar Bears are coming up from their dens with their young ones, discovering the world for the very first time.about the photographer
Polish-American, wildlife photographer and great traveler all around the world, Dorota Sénéchal is passionate about nature for over thirty years. She had a dream: to pay tribute to nature, its beauty and diversity, through her photographs. Each of her reports is a total immersion in a new land, and the opportunity to share amazing images. Her message: « Let us take the time to admire what surrounds us, to observe and enjoy the simple beauty of nature but also and mostly, to respect the richness and diversity of our so fragile planet. »back to gallery
