This photograph was taken in Soweto, South Africa in 2013 at the Buskaid Music School, a charity that taught young Africans, mostly from disadvantaged backgrounds, to play classical music instruments. When taking this photograph I had been particularly taken by this young pupil's great attachment and enthusiasm for his violin. In a creative way, I sought to reflect this.about the photographer
Chris Kirby is a documentary photographer and visual artist. He was born in London and was admitted to Kingston College of Art and Design (in the UK), later obtaining a diploma in journalism from the British College of Journalism.
