Work, whatever its nature, plays a preponderant role that determines the attractiveness of cities. Its abundance and quality helps to build poles of opportunity for a better life, powerful drivers of economic development and social inclusion. While its scarcity produces areas of inequality, poverty and violence. Workers are the key to the urban machine. On the street, workers go unnoticed and underestimated As far as I am concerned, workers, I love them, I look for them. This series would like to pay tribute to them.about the photographer
Hakim Boulouiz is an expert in urban aesthetics with a multidisciplinary training. After a diploma in architecture, a diploma in filmmaking and a master degree in territory planning, he completed a PhD at the University of Geneva analyzing the ambivalent relationship between urban design and the art of film. He was introduced to photography whilest studying architecture. He is fascinated by order and disorder of cities…by colors, by fullness and emptiness, by spaces and dressing it up in light and shadow.back to gallery
