entry description
This photography seeks to capture the gypsy tradition today; a nomadic culture from India that has been assimilating different features of the territories where it’s been. Capture a young woman with a bombastic dress. She finds a closed gate, an allegory of today's society, a society that forms a wall in front of young people who want to integrate and advance. However even if they find rejection through the bad stereotypes that accompany it, many see part of their traditions and clothing with admiration. This image is intended to be an allegory between forgotten tradition and the preserved although at certain times it is criticized, it becomes an aspiration for the majority. It is this double face that has nested in our society and seeks social convention to not be criticized. We must open the gate and not let ourselves be influenced by stereotypes that are not 100% the collective definition. We must protect our traditions not letting these become the corset that opresses us but the turning point that lets your personality your own and not a social dictation that ends up making tribes, small clones of automats which end up thinking like the masses. We must criticise a world which has more stereotypes and thoughts over the attitude and yjr individual. Society in general must get rid of the negativity, start to get to know us by as we are individually not pigeonhole us into a group where we have been born but not feel part of it. The individual must become the focal point in which all are set to get a change. Let's not forget where we came from, but we are not convinced that the socially established is what works. We must be respectful with our past and other traditions to be different and unique.back to gallery
