Different view of a bavarian lake | Hintersee
I wanted to show the speciality of this moment, the magic of this place and the intimacy I just experienced. Reduced to itself and speaking for himself, I wanted to capture the tenderness and fragility and give room to silence. In order to do justice to that, I could not photograph from the narrow edge of the beach but had to get as close as possible and so I struggled through the ice and climbed into the lake. All photographs are photographed from the waterside.

entry description
The Hintersee and its rocks are a well-known and very popular photo spot in Bavaria, Germany which is highly frequented by photographers at any time of the year or day. I hoped that on the New Year´s Morning wouldn´t be too many photographers around there and these New Years Morning was special: When I arrived, the lake was calm, shrouded in snow and fog, in front of me. I was alone, there was only the lake, the rocks and me and I could grab the silence.I wanted to show the speciality of this moment, the magic of this place and the intimacy I just experienced.
