These photographs were taken in Poland, Maine at midnight during the summer of 2018. These midnight shots show the Milky Way, and were taken using a tripod and a slower shutter speed to allow for longer exposure.about the photographer
Lauren Pantzer lives in New York City with her parents and two sisters. Lauren is 15 years old and is a freshman at the Trinity School. Lauren is very interested in photography and is on the Photography Staff of the Trinity Yearbook. Lauren also enjoys the performing arts and for the past five years has taken classes with the Applause acting program. Each semester she acts in a production of a show or review. Lauren has performed in a wide range of productions including Annie and Sweet Charity. In addition to acting, Lauren also takes dance classes at Applause with former and current Broadway dancers. She has learned jazz, hip hop and musical theater dance. Lauren also take private piano and voice lessons once a week in which she learns note-reading skills and works on voice preparedness for chorus and Applause shows. Lauren enjoys community service as well, and participates in Trinity facilitated community service programs at Goddard Riverside Community Center and The West Side Commons. In both programs she works with children, either assisting with homework or helping the teacher with an art project or other organized activity. Lauren plans to intern at a Benrubi Gallery, a photography gallery in New York City this summer. Lauren has also taken many photography classes at her summer camp, Tripp Lake Camp in Poland, Maine. The photos submitted to this contest were taken at night at her summer camp.back to gallery
