Ghost Town: The Mill

Ghost Town: The Mill is an image captured on a wet plate collodion negative. The architectural element in the image is a distorted shadow of a mill that I found in the photograph of a ghost town. I added the frame to conceptually isolate the building, as individual memories are isolated from context, and I added the wax fruit as an element of absurdity, such as is found in our consciousness. The use of the wet plate process is intended to invoke the idea of history.about the photographer
Dana King is an artist and a writer living in Northwest Ohio. She attended Bowling Green State University, where she earned a BFA in Two Dimensional Studies with a concentration in Photography. In her work, she explores memory, myth, and identity.back to gallery
