entry description
I was riding a bike along the seashore with my little sister and my camera hanging from my neck. We were going toward a beautiful sunset with astonishing colors and clouds, while the sun was sitting on the edge of the sea. That evening I tried everything to take a good picture using those lights and colors, but nothing turned out well. I kept trying and trying. After a long ride, when we arrived at the harbor, the sun was almost completely behind the horizon and the light was diminishing rapidly. I couldn’t believe that I wasn’t able to take not even a single photo that I was proud of. We put our bikes against a low wall that had a series of small street lamps that followed its shape and that were illuminating the sidewalk. We sat on it to catch the last breath of the sunset. But suddenly, when I was about to put the camera in my backpack, I saw it: my sister’s bike was lighted in a very fascinating way by a street lamp. I immediately jumped off the wall, and after few adjustment I just… Click. That was the picture that I was looking for, a picture that could bring me anywhere.about the photographer
I'm Mauro, I'm 21 years old and I live in Trento, a small city situated in northern Italy. I studied in a High School focused on graphic art and typography, here in Trento, called Istituto Artigianelli. During all my life I played basketball, even in a good level, but then I felt like photography and art called me. Now I’m working in a local company's marketing department as a graphic designer, video-maker and in general as a "handyman" in the field of the company communication. I have the chance to work on my photography during my free time, but I hope to make this passion grow more and more. I wouldn't know how to describe my style of photography, I'm just convinced that the most important aspect of a photograph is its story, so I always go for the subjects that can evoke something in me, that brings me in another time or place. My biggest hope is to make the people who watch them fell this way. Even for just a moment.back to gallery
