Transient beauty or not?
I started my documentary "project Fallen" on 18 july 2010.
The first fallen one that I captured on digital film, was a dragonfly.
Nowadays we only have an eye for the living and not for the dead.
There are a lot of dead animals alongside the road, parks, streets and in the dutch polders. What strikes me is, when i compare The Netherlands with the other countries in Europe, like Belgium, France, Germany, is that i see more and more dead animals here. And I notice that nothing is cleaned up. It is run over until the last flattened remains are washed away by rainwater. Ultimately, it is no longer visible to the naked eye and the building blocks of the beautiful animal are absorbed by nature.
I wonder how the average person would react when confronted with a crashed/killed or just natural dead animal? Not only roadkill has become the subject of this study. Traces of blood. Organs are exposed. Insects come to claim the carcass. Till this day I still capture dead animals. Even more than when I started. Eventually when I reach the 10 year milestone the story needs to lead to an big exposition.
The question from me for the viewer is: Is it transient beauty or not?.

I write with light in image, word and sound. My vision is pure and uncensored
I am an autodidact, people person, treehugger and a real-life creative living breathing organism. I am authentic and unique in my own way. That means that copying the work of others does not contribute to my creativity.
This means that I think about what I am going to do and than just do it.
I create from nothing, something and use everything I have and my unique skillset as an instrument to (co)-create with me and my soul. The goal is not what I have created but the process while creating it with my vision. That means to me, that having a expression like an image, is not an end in itself.
My vision and my drive:
I am convinced that everything in and around us has an incredibly beautiful story to tell. Driven by my endless love, romantic passion and creativity I observe life without judgement. I write with light with image, words and music. My vision is pure and uncensored.
My creative mind is always on the move with exploring and trying new ideas, techniques where the process is leading. The gear I use does not define my work. It is me who defines my work. The goal is not to have an image in the end but to have an emotion captured in the image, which speaks with and without the use of words: the soul of silence. Making money or striving for acknowledgement ain't my drive. My drive is to express myself in all that is alive and dead with my observation and emotion that comes along with it. And share my love in everything I created with giving something back to the observer who views my work.
