entry description
These structures were found on Lake Biwa, a large freshwater lake in Shiga Prefecture. At over 4 million years old, it is one of the world's oldest lakes. I'm told that these structures are used to monitor the sediment in the lake to keep track of the effects of seismic and human activity.about the photographer
Vera Conley is an international award-winning photographic fine artist. Working with both analog and digital mediums, her passion is to explore relationships between light and shadow, shapes and form in the style of minimalistic and abstract compositions for the creation of ethereal, emotive images. She curates chaos strategically, reducing complications to primary elements of focus, often through the use of long exposure techniques and infrared photography. The results are images unconstrained by the physical world, opening up the mind and eyes to the imagination.back to gallery
