entry description
Full spectrum concentrated Cannabis oil , also called by many Rick Simpson's Oil or RSO in short, is illegal in Israel. This is because Cannabis is illegal in Israel. One can a get a permit to use Medical Cannabis for his or her illness, and in Israel there are 50,000 Medical Cannabis users that hold that permit, still they are not given RSO oil which claimed to heal many from different illnesses. Those who want to consume RSO oil for their health have to produce it by their own or go to someone who will make it for them. These people who make the oil for the sick are also known by the sick and their families as "Angels" are in risk of being jailed, since their activity is still considered illegal by the authorities. Their activity is being done underground in their private homes, which turns into a makeshift labs and clinics. My series document their work.about the photographer
My name is Aviram Bar-Akiva. I am a native born Israeli living and working in Tel-Aviv. The passion for photography was always within me, but it was only when I turned 42 that I grabbed a camera and went down to the streets of Tel-Aviv. It is during the weekends and the late hours that I enjoy walking among the busy streets and monumental buildings, passing by the lively coffee shops during the day or the noisy bars and colorful clubs at night. The city's heartbeat becomes my own, as I watch the city and the people that make it, trying to capture all of that which comes into my sight.back to gallery
