I attended a high school for the arts, primarily to study dance and classical piano, but found myself experimenting with a wide selection of arts options: weaving, jewelry, printmaking, sculpture, as well as photography. Photography soon emerged as my favorite way to express myself and I supplemented traditional courses with workshops (Maine Media, Peter Turnley), National Geographic photo expeditions, and internships (Mark Shaw Photographic Archive, Brattleboro Museum & Art Center).
I am currently enrolled in the Photography and Media Program at California Institute of the Arts and will receive my BFA in 2023.

entry description
The contrast between the exhausted mother and the bored child in the stroller and the happy subjects on the billboard caught my attention. I found the juxtaposition to be quite humorous.about the photographer
Born in Washington, DC, I was introduced to photography in eighth grade and loved it immediately. I was drawn to the magic, mystery, and elements of serendipity and surprise of the process, as well as the potential of what powerful images can say. Photography forces me to slow down and observe life while everything is moving so fast around me. I seek out unusual perspectives, details, and light.I attended a high school for the arts, primarily to study dance and classical piano, but found myself experimenting with a wide selection of arts options: weaving, jewelry, printmaking, sculpture, as well as photography.
