THROUGH THE STATES ON THE ROOF OF THE WORLD
Who are we?
We are ordinary people realizing their dreams. Wehave both been working since time immemorial andtrying to save money for close and further travels.
13 years ago we were infected with a disease called "traveling"; and, as Ryszard Kapuściński said, itis in fact an incurable disease.
"What to do to gain a distance to life and look atthe world from a different perspective? Just plan a tripto the East. "
The route of our expedition ran through the "states";, the territories of the former Sovietrepublics, in desolate steppe areas, where the summerheat is terrible and the winter frost is freezing. Inaddition, our road led between seven thousand peaksrising up to an altitude of over 4600 m above sea level.
Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstancountries that struggle with their own cultural andethnic identities after years of Soviet rule. Ourexpedition allowed us to get to know and taste thiscorner of the world. We established honest andfriendly relations, promoted family tourism and triedto overcome our own weaknesses.
We have faced a completely different reality wherepeople live in a world so different from ours. We haveseen spaces that intertwine with life.
We admired the mountains, whose 7,000-metre highsnow-covered peaks towering majestically over thelandscape. Few cities, most of which are lost in theSoviet style, we saw bustling and colourful fairs. Wefelt the climate of Central Asia, the climate of theOrient.
The journey has given us many opportunities toexperience incredible adventures, meet people andtheir lives close and close to each other.
