entry description
During a recent trip to Zambia, I spotted this malachite kingfisher hunting on the banks of the Chongwe River, and although I was in a boat (with a heavy lens and no tripod), the kingfisher remained still long enough for me to capture several clear images. I sometimes worry that by putting a camera between wildlife and me, I will miss the pleasure that comes with observing nature, but I won’t forget this moment any time soon. If I close my eyes, I can still feel the boat swaying; the bright sun warming my face.about the photographer
Multimedia journalist and storyteller focused on travel and wildlife conservation. My written work has appeared in two books and a wide range of top-tier American and British magazines and newspapers. My photography often appears alongside my digital articles, and I regularly publish them on my social media channels. I also work with conservation charities as a communications consultant and have been hired for a range of projects, from photographing a biodiversity survey in Mozambique to editing annual reports. In 2016, I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a masters of philosophy in conservation leadership, where I wrote my dissertation on "conservation storytelling," and am now based in London.back to gallery
