The end of the zebra.
This photo is symbolic of the cruel side of the wild life. The ballet of crocodiles, fighting for a few pieces of flesh was dantesque. The scene lasted less than 20 minutes, but was extremely violent.

entry description
Photo taken in Kenya in September 2019; on the Mara River, at the "main crossing point". During a crossing of several hundred zebras, one of them was caught by crocodiles. About fifty crocodiles have shredded the zebra fighting between them. At a brief moment the zebra's head appeared among the fighting crocodiles, one of them turning in an extrordinary movement of his tail. Behind this head there was no longer any body; we also see one of the crocodiles fleeing on the side with a leg of the zebra in the mouth. Although dead, the expression of the head of the zebra is poignant: the look is like pleading, the mouth slightly open as to catch his breath in a fight already lost. This photo is symbolic of the cruel side of the wild life.
