Pictures of her
The stories told go way beyond the obvious mother-daughter relationship. These pictures are reflections, analyses and fears of the photographer’s childhood.
The daughter is playing the role of the mother when she was a child. A sort of pictured biography of the photographer’s childhood. These pictures have all been set up and staged, using props from Aimee’s childhood, her dresses from when she was a child, locations she saw as a child.
Having worked in the fashion world and for magazines, Aimée is now moving towards auteur photography, which is closer to her artistic universe. She has participated in several international group exhibitions, and has been granted several Awards.

entry description
The title of the series “Pictures of Her” may be puzzling: who is she? When looking at the images you can deduce it’s a child, always the same one, striking poses that could be a game, or not. Is the child playing hide-and-seek, or is she trying to escape or blend into the background to the point of becoming a curtain, a lamp, or a piece of furniture, that one sets down here or there? We are plunged into a universe where dreams and strangeness go hand in hand. This is a collaborative œuvre between a mother and her daughter, as well as a performance for the child. The stories told go way beyond the obvious mother-daughter relationship. These pictures are reflections, analyses and fears of the photographer’s childhood.
