My work tries to invite my audience into my memories and childhood daydreams when we were not defined by labels and presented ourselves as we pleased. What I try to show is that women can be delicate yet strong, playful, and shocking all at the same time. They can be proper one minute and crass the next. My portraits are based on my subjects endless insecurities and unrelenting confidence. They exist in a constant state of flux where women are more than women. They are human.

entry description
Photographing women has always been an uplifting experience. I find strength and freedom in my fellow women. The strength comes from the camaraderie and the freedom comes from the bonds of our gender. In the world today, women are inundated with labels placed on them that seemingly never vanish from our vocabulary. My portraits are made to expose the women beneath these labels. The women I photograph are a function of freedom. They are shown in a strong natural light and in a natural context. My work tries to invite my audience into my memories and childhood daydreams when we were not defined by labels and presented ourselves as we pleased.
