entry description
I noticed this Bison crossing the street and heading towards the blue and white steam rising up from the hydrothermal basin. The reason I have chosen to name this photo "Bison Blues", is not only for the blue steam rising up from the hydrothermal basin at Yellowstone Park, but also because of the difficult history the Bison has had to walk through. 150 years ago there were an est. 40 million Bison alive. But by 1883 hunters had wiped out the population leaving only a few hundred. Fortunately, conservationists were able to save a few hundred in captivity and all 500,000 that are alive today are descendants of those few survivors.about the photographer
I have been passionate about the craft of photography since a very young age, and I was fortunate to have a darkroom in my home throughout my high school years to help further develop my photography skills and fuel my passion as a photographer over the past 40 years. Though my passions lie in Wildlife and Nature Photography, and much of my time in photography focuses upon those two areas, they do not define who I am as a photographer, as I finds great joy in capturing any and all forms of life, as I enjoy the challenge of capturing images in several different genre's of photography.back to gallery
