Then we moved to Japan and 4 years later to China.
Suddenly, I lost my ability to communicate.
I became mute, as I spoke only a basic level.
I became deaf, as the words that come to me did not make any sense.
I became illiterate, as I could not read.
I became the one who did not understand what it all meant and how it all connected.
So life put a camera in my hands.
Light became a new life-line of communication. Light and lines.
Small minimalistic moments but also the dense intensity of the cities we settled into.
Thoughts and things. Colours and monochromes.
Still trying to find back my voice.

entry description
Fuji is fascinating. So often hiding in clouds. But then, she appears, and her simple lines are such a contrast to the majestic grandeur of the vulcano. This picture was taken on a cloudy day when we went hiking on Mount Takao.about the photographer
When I grew up in Belgium, I played with words to describe the world around me. Through the years and decades and because of many moves, other countries and their languages became a part of me.Then we moved to Japan and 4 years later to China.
