Aly Hazzaa
Aly Hazzaa photographer alyhazzaa.com Based in Cairo, Egypt, Aly Hazzaa is a street and documentary photographer whose lens has captured the dynamic spirit of the city—and the never-ending changes of its streets—since 2008. Initially drawn to fleeting moments, his work has evolved into a sophisticated exploration of light, form, and color, with each image revealing the unique stories of its people. In 2011, he made a transition from engineering to photojournalism at Al Shorouk newspaper, all while nurturing his deep passion for street photography. Amid periods of national upheaval, Aly documented some of the most pivotal events, marking his work with a powerful sense of urgency and insight. His compelling images have appeared in renowned publications such as The New York Times, The Globe and Mail, and El País. In 2024, he earned second place in a prestigious competition organized by the World Photography Organization and served as a jury member for the Egyptian Press Syndicate Photo Competition. Most recently, Aly joined the Fujifilm Creators program, further sharing his photographic journey with a broader community.
