Miriam Bräutigam lives and works in the Rhine-Main region. She studied German literature, art history, and psychology at the Universities of Würzburg and Düsseldorf, graduating with a Magister Artium. She works as a copywriter and concept developer for agencies and companies, freelance since 2002. For many years, she has also been active as an artist.
Her work encompasses photography, abstract calligraphy and painting, mixed media, and object art. Depending on the concept, she creates individual works or series, often combining digital and analog techniques. Her predominantly serial photographic works explore subjective perception: everyday motifs are transformed through reduction and subtle estrangement into an independent visual language.
Familiar forms appear in new contexts, opening surprising interpretive spaces. Her photo series anSCHEIN / Semblance was shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Awards 2025, Professional Competition, Still Life. Her works have been exhibited among others at Somerset House, London (Sony World Photography Awards 2025), Rodgau Art 2025, and tArt-Orte at Selterswassermuseum, Niederselters (2024, 2025), as well as in group and member exhibitions at Amthof Galerie Bad Camberg. She has been a member there since 2021 and on the board since 2025.
