The Imaginarium
Inspired by “The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus”, this Photographic art series has awakened a beautiful world of underwater and fashion, with its ethereal sets and emotive stories.
Detailed design and handcrafted elements evoke dreamlike, yet poignantly real images. The tone and shade palette used in this body of work induces diverse sensual responses, conveying tales of love, enchantment and sorrow.
Her emotive and captivating art depicts stories of beauty and ethereal themes, often as underwater scenes.
From a successful first solo exhibition in 2012, 2013 was an exciting year where she featured in other National & International Art Shows and galleries, and successfully participated in some prestigious art and photographic awards including “Lethbridge 10000”, where she won the “Creativity” award, as well as reaching the finals in the “Clayton Utz Art Award” and “Heritage Photographic Award”.
2014 has shaped up to be a ground-breaking year as the showcasing of her her new elaborate underwater series “The Imaginarium” begins with exhibitions around Australia, and featuring in international art shows around Europe and Asia.

Beth Mitchell is a creative art and fashion photographer based in Queensland, Australia. Following senior school years, largely spent out of the classroom studying and practising photography, she discovered and developed her niche— combining the elements of portraiture, fashion and conceptual photography into her own unique style.Her emotive and captivating art depicts stories of beauty and ethereal themes, often as underwater scenes.
