Flower Power, Pit Bulls of the Revolution
"Flower Power, Pit Bulls of the Revolution", is a series of portraits of shelter pit bulls. The idea was to shed a different light on these misunderstood dogs, using the power of imagery in an attempt to rebrand pit bulls.
The series features shelter pit bulls (i.e. dogs awaiting adoption in various New York shelters) wearing custom-made flower crowns.

entry description
America euthanizes upwards 1,000,000 pit bulls every year. Once the celebrated war heroes of America, pit bulls are now feared and even banned from some cities. Pit bull owners suffer from the stigma and are often judged by their families or society. These factors make it difficult for shelters to adopt their pit bulls out. Meanwhile, "backyard breeders" keep on producing more and more pit bulls, as the demand for impressive-looking pits is still very high in some neighborhoods. Placed in the hands of inadequate owners, most of these dogs will end up in shelters within a few months, having missed key steps of their socialization as puppies."Flower Power, Pit Bulls of the Revolution", is a series of portraits of shelter pit bulls.
