PORTRAIT FROM A REVOLUTION
I consider myself a travel and reportage photographer with a preference for portraiture with dramatic lighting. I like to follow big events and create projects like how I did in Kiev. This year I followed the event in Ukraine and produce the project “ Portraits from a revolution” that has been widely appreciated and published by major magazine in Europe like the italian Ilsette , spanish XLSEMANAL, german FOCUS and the british TheSunday.

entry description
In this project I present a group of portraits I took in Kiev during the recent EuroMaydan.I decided to shoot like in a studio, adding a dramatic illumination and choosing the best pose for my character, after all everyone of them isinvoluntarily a protagonists of this human show: from the student of Lviv who come with his saxophone, the old cossack, the medical volunteer, the young boy with mask, the priest and the Berkhut riot police man standing in front of the crowd with its authority. Above all it’s the portrait of the red girl with the ukrainian flag, holding a coffe with both hands, her big eyes watching to an uncertain future.about the photographer
I began taking photos for little newspaper in my city Bologna and stock agency. I quitted my job and I covered my first event in 2010, when I traveled three months in South africa to create photos for photo agency about the imminent world cup. Since then i travel to create images both as documentary and commercial.I consider myself a travel and reportage photographer with a preference for portraiture with dramatic lighting.
