Parallel World
I have always been fascinated over buildings that use glass extensively as the key element of their exterior facade. To me, glass is a material with magical power, it is the mirror of light, a symbol of tranquility and a representation of modernistic simplicity. But most importantly, this hard, brittle substance is the gateway that allows me to peek into a whole new dimension where illusion and reality are brought together into a new form of visual unity.
This series is my attempt to interpret the above spatial dimension as I explore alternative methods of portraying building architecture and their surrounding environment, through the usage of glass facade as the main medium of composition. The outcome is to offer a new perspective to appreciate the art of architecture.

about the photographer
Siyuan Ma is an emerging photographic artist from Singapore. Started out in 2009 as a self-taught photographer at the age of 19, Siyuan developed a keen interest in a wide field of subjects ranging from architecture, street to nature and panoramic photography. With his unique perspectives, Siyuan is fast establishing his presence in the global photographic community. His works have earned recognition nationally and globally, winning awards and nominations in competitions such as the International Photography Awards, Moscow Foto Awards and Singapore Garden Photographer of the Year.back to gallery
