River of Stars
I almost didn't take this photo. I shot this in July during a camping trip after plans took a couple detours when a few things went wrong. One of our vehicles broke down and we spotted a grizzly cub in the area we intended to make camp. As a result, we ended up at Kentucky-Alleyne Provincial Park for one of the nights. By this point I had been awake for 48 hours so all I wanted to do was sleep. My mind changed as soon as we arrived at the lake - the sky was beautiful and alive with stars! I checked out the shoreline, set up my camera for this shot and let it go to work while I spent the next couple hours relaxing and watching the stars.

The darkest I've ever seen the night sky and the brightest I've ever seen the Milky Way. The foreground and lake are lit only by starlight and airglow!I almost didn't take this photo.
