entry description
A reflection of my personal emotions during this particular period, the image - created shortly after moving away from home to study at University - also expresses my admiration of Baroque painting. I sought to depict the contrasting textures between the aged, textured, toughened bark and my own much softer flesh, commenting on feelings of vulnerability and loneliness. Though a self-portrait, these emotions lack exclusivity, and as such my personal physical identity is of no importance when considering the amount of people who have found - and will find themselves - in similar circumstances over the years.about the photographer
Twenty years of age and currently studying my first year of BA (Hons) Photography at Leeds College of Art, having lived in the small town of St. Helens all my life. Academically my work has been an eclectic mix and I thoroughly enjoy the experimentation, though my current style seems to favour a more painterly aesthetic. During my time at Leeds I hope to find my style and creative voice with the hopes to travel, create, teach, and do what I love as I love what I do.back to gallery
