Nino Russo was born in Sicily, in Leonforte, province of Enna, in 1952 and usually lives (prefers to live) in the countryside, in Castellana Sicula, Palermo.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1977. Till February 2015 he worked as chief of the Internal Medicine Unit in Petralia Hospital, but now he is retired. During the seventhies he worked in the Emergency Room of the Hospital Cervello in Palermo for ten years. That highly stressing but exciting experience has inspired him a short novel, “Notte al Pronto Soccorso”, published in Italy by Sellerio.
Nino Russo has been interested in photography since forty years. He started doing his photo reportage during his journeys to the East, India, Rajastan and Darjeeling. Nepal, Burma, Thailand, Sikkim and Buthan, and to North and Central America, USA, Cuba, Honduras.
Nino Russo has contributed with his photos to different magazines, such as ”Capital”, “Arte”, “Meridiani”, “La Repubblica”, “Tuttoturismo”, ” Class”, “Specchio della Stampa”, “I Viaggi del Gusto”.
