about the photographer
Gary W. Kuroki resides in Oakland, CA, and is a self taught photographer recording black and white fine art images. “Life is an infinite sequence of moments in time. Most go unnoticed, unappreciated and forgotten. I seek to preserve a moment with the hope it will be considered, valued or remembered. I strive to distill the dynamic world of action, color and complexity into the simplicity of a singular black and white moment and to transform the prosaic into a new, compelling visual perspective.”Early influence came from the straight photography school of the famous Group f.64 as well as the philosophy of Henri Cartier-Bresson.
