Meditations on Man and Nature

entry description
In 2001 I developed a technique of digital manipulation that allowed me to explore and meditate on what I thought I was seeing in both man made creations and the works of nature. While working with my original photos of works of man, and those created by nature, the process reminded me of the mandalas created by Tibetan monks—hours of mindful work with grains of sand, and for me, slices of a photo and pixels. Image 01 is from a detail of a photo of a custom 1932 Ford roadster; Image 02, windows and balconies of a building in downtown San Diego; Image 03, engine from a vintage race car; Image 04, sticks and stones with a native flowering plant; Image 05, dead high desert shrub against the southern California sky.back to gallery
