entry description
The images show microcrystals of recrystalized vitamin C (ascorbic acid) photographed with the microscope. The special techniques of illumination such as polarized light and dark field used together allowed me to obtain interesting shapes nad colours. These microcrystals and their shapes, forms and colours are almost quite invisible without polarization. Vitamin C creates various forms of the microcrystals. They sometimes look like the feathers and sometimes look quite different like these ones presented in this set of micrographs. These microcrystals remind me the odd towns by night.about the photographer
I am a biologist by education. I am not professional photographer but the photography is my passion. My favourite kind of photography is takin g photos of small and tiny subjects. My photographic real passion is photomicrography. I use various special techniques of illumination such as polarized light, dark field, bright field and mixed techniques. I take photographs both living microorganisms and microcrystals of various substances. I espacially love microcrystals photographying because they give a great opportunity of my own interpretation the image seen in field of view. Apart from absolute abstractional images I look for such images which remind the parts of our big, ordinary world. I love sharing my way of seeing of the microworlds with other people.back to gallery
