Art is her passion and photography/photographic art is her main artistic focus. Though predominately self-taught, she studied art at several fine art academies in New York and, for a long while, continued to follow a career in the arts along with painting and sketching in her spare time. The responsibilities of parenthood and family detoured Patricia from working in the arts but in 2008, she returned to her passion.
Patricia’s subjects are influenced by what surrounds her especially nature and the dynamics, character, and energy of city life. She sees beyond an object or scene – to be a part of it and wants others drawn into the images in a way which gives a pleasant, sometimes adventurous, or sympathetic feeling and helps to expand the imagination. The surface on which the image is printed is often an integral part of her composition providing added texture, mood and a “literal feel” to the finished work. Her techniques/style vary and depends upon the subject and what she desires to evoke from the image. Patricia sometimes leans towards impressionism/modern impressionism or expanded realism. She is always in a learning mode and experimenting with new techniques.
Patricia shares her artistic passion for the arts with her son who is a tech writer and is also in the arts.
